Multi-Ethnic Youth Festival (M.E.Y) – Funded by Belfast City Council Medium Grants
With funding provided through Belfast City Council we were able to deliver our first ever Multi-Ethnic Youth Festival at Ormeau Park where we had over 550 youths in attendance in bringing together those from diverse and local communities through a festival to encourage integration, promote equality, raise cultural awareness and give those who are feeling that they don’t belong here a sense of belonging in society through song, dance, food and refreshments. We had local and rising stars Zac Mac, Conor Marcus and Endo entertain through our cultural celebration with none other and Q radio host Ibe Sesay as the host for the evening. Our visionary youth developed and created the project as the focus was on the youth and making them feel part of the community and no better way to do it through the voices of our youth to reduce the isolation and seclusion they are suffering in society. The event was a free event and was an array of colours which was covered in many local newspapers, radio stations and social media platforms.
