Photography and filming Course - Funded by The Community Foundation NI Arts, Culture and Heritage Fund
Through this funding we have been able to give the youth the opportunities to explore cultural areas in Northern Ireland. We had 30 youths participating over a period of 6 weeks in which all received a digital camera and a headset with a memory card. The sessions were delivered online via Zoom with a facilitator who specialised in photography and filming. The youth took a Coastal Tour of Northern Ireland where they explored areas including the Giants Causeway, Bushmills Distillery, Ballintoy Harbour and Glenarm Castle. The youth created their own portfolio pieces which were put on display at the Arts Culture and Heritage Expo held in the Crumlin Road Goal. The youth who took part enjoyed exploring and learning about famous filmography including Adam Curtis who is a renowned film maker. Youth got to explore many areas that they never knew existed and the history they not only got to learn about their country that they now call home, but others got to explore their cultures and educating others in the history behind their hometowns.
